Donate in june to help us win $20,000

This June, Kantorei Choral Society is participating in Canada Helps Great Canadian Giving Challenge. Every dollar donated gives us a chance to win $20,000.

This would allow us to broaden our choral concert program to bring the choral arts to a wider demographic, increase our bursary fund to provide tuition assistance to those who need it, and expand our community programs to touch the lives of more Calgarians with the transformative power of music.

Why donate to Kantorei Choral Society?

A donation to the performing arts is a donation to the social fabric of our city; to our collective mental health our sense of community and our wellbeing.

According to the Canadian Association for the Performing Arts:

• 82% of Canadians believe engagement with the arts leads to good health and well-being

• 88% of Canadians believe youth engagement with the arts helps reduce youth crime and alienation

• Canadians who regularly attend live music are almost twice as likely to have stronger sense of belonging to their city or town compared to those who don’t attend

• People who attend concert, theatre or film have lower anxiety and are less subject to depression, even when adjusting for relevant cofactors

• The more frequently people attend performing arts and other receptive arts, the more likely they are to report good health
